Below are a list of art supplies I’d feel good about recommending to my students. If you’d like a recommendation for a product you don’t see below, feel free to message and ask.
Air dry clay
This is the clay I use in classes and lessons. It dries slower than other brands, which helps prevent cracking and flaking.
polymer clay
Polymer clay won't dry unless it's baked in an oven (on foil!), and this clay is so fun to play with. Lots of colors and tools included. Good for kids to make jewelry or tiny sculptures!
graphite pencil sketch kit
This is good for the kid who likes to sketch. Includes 15 graphite pencils (5H to 12B), charcoal, blending stumps, sandpaper block (for sharpening charcoal) and a ton more.
heavyweight paper
Strathmore Watercolor Paper Pad
This is marketed as watercolor paper but is sturdy enough to use for all art projects. We use a variation of this for all art done in lessons and classes.
Watercolor Paint Set
A step above the traditional watercolor paints, but not the best brand there is. Good for kids who want to explore watercolor.
Beginner’s Easel
Finenolo Wooden Painting Easel
This is great for kids who like to paint. Height is adjustable.
Acrylic Paint Set
This is the brand I use when I make my own paintings! This paint WILL stain clothes, however, so maybe also invest in an apron! ;)
Colored Pencils
Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils
The king of colored pencil brands. These are vibrant and last forever if you take care of them!
